Molecular process films

Eight films span seven mechanisms and eight visual languages: the complete leading/lagging replication fork in both cartoon and molecular-surface treatments, processive synthesis, measured primer extension, a surface gate, ligand binding and release, a clamp ratchet, and an authored signal relay. Every film opens as an editable Molstudio scene.

Leading and lagging synthesis at the fork

A parental duplex reaches the T-shaped fork, where the leading template routes outside gp4 and the lagging template threads through its central channel. Opposed gp5–thioredoxin polymerases then show continuous leading synthesis beside four-nucleotide T7 priming, lagging-strand loop growth and release, and two emerging daughter duplexes.

Replication fork under the surface

The same asymmetric fork choreography is staged through hydrated molecular surfaces, active-site cutaways, and restrained contact waves. The leading template still routes outside gp4 for continuous synthesis while the lagging template enters its channel for four-nucleotide priming, looped discontinuous synthesis, and release.

Rapid processive DNA synthesis

Twenty conserved-atom handoffs drive one continuous DNA conveyor through a stable polymerase. The camera holds the active site, then pulls back to reveal a primer extended from seven to 27 retained units.

Four-addition primer extension

The complete deposited seven-base primer stays visible while four dATP copies approach, dwell and hand off in place to retained units. Three intervening full-frame helical translocation beats leave an explicit eleven-base primer.

Bind, dwell, release

Track AQ4 into the EGFR cleft, hold at its deposited 1M17 pose while the contact shell resolves, then release along a second independently editable path.
